Job Purpose
- The role is responsible for leading the delivery of projects, enhancements and support related to the SAP Project (PS) module in-order-to support the ongoing business demand and create a competitive edge.
- Experience with SAP Finance and SAP Controlling preferred.
- Solves unique and highly complex problems that have a broad impact on the business by leveraging professional experience and/or education.
- Design and configure the SAP system to facilitate all Project system processes and transaction flows.
- Works with designated resources and team members to execute enhancement and project requests and guide and help the Support team in Project related issues.
- Works closely with other project team members to understand integration between the Project module and other SAP modules.
- Guide the business users and peers in implementation of the new systems and processes.
- This is a global role expected to support business users globally and work with the business and SAP IDS team located across the globe.
Job Description
Some of the accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Works with IT team to drive solutions and issue resolution.
- Works with business to drive decisions based on solutions provided.
- Guides the business users and peers in implementation of the new systems and processes.
- Engagement with multiple stakeholders and timely updates to management is required.
- Accountable to design and configure the SAP system to meet requirements in the project system processes and transaction flows.
- Works closely with other project team members to understand integration between the Project module and other SAP modules in ECC.
- Guides best practice adoption and authors quality deliverables.
- Authors complex functional specifications and works closely with the technical teams and BI teams in addressing business requirements around reporting and/or custom functionality.
- Develop Project conversion and cutover strategies.
- Support a global business user base spread across Europe, Americas & APME.
You are meant for this job if:
The current assignment is a full-time position with the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, computer science, Finance or Business Administration. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least ten+ years of experience in designing, configuring, testing and implementing SAP solutions in a multi-currency environment across various geographies.
- Work experience in an SAP consulting-related occupation (internal or external).
- Experience in at least two full lifecycle implementations in SAP Project System (PS).
- Ability to guide best practice adoption and author quality deliverables.
- Strong cross modular integration knowledge with FI/CO, MM, PP, SD and HCM.
- Fiori experience is a plus.
- Understanding of the SAP technical architecture concepts.
- Ability to support a global business user base spread across Europe, Americas & APME.
- Capability to solve unique and highly complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.
- Good “client-facing”, able to do general and detailed wide-audience presentations.
- Project management capacities: planning, follow-up, risk assessment and escalation.
- Able to identify and incorporate workarounds to circumvent roadblocks.
- Flexible working hours.
- Strong Customer Service ethic and presentation.
- Operational autonomy. Show strong initiative. Proactive and persuasive.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Domain-specific requirements:
- Expertise in configuration of PS structures: WBS, Network, Milestones, Cost Planning, Budgeting, Time sheets, Goods issues, and other project management activities in SAP PS.
- Experience on complete PS module cycle from project creation to settlement.
- Proficient in Cost & Revenue planning and budgeting, proven knowledge on Results Analysis - Cost based and Revenue Based methods, Period-end processing, Project Settlement, Milestone Billing, Assembly processing, Material procurement.
- Must have led Project small scale to large scale projects as a functional lead.
- Good techno-functional experience is preferred - strong ABAP code debugging skills, understanding where to place user exits, BADIs, etc.
- Works independently with minimum guidance and is well versed with best practices in SAP - specifically in a manufacturing environment.
