Job Purpose

The purpose of the Lead Installation Engineer is to be the focal point for a team of engineers to ensure proper planning and execution of post manufacturing services to our customers. The lead installation engineer will also utilize their cross-functional knowledge and expertise to provide solutions to complex onshore and offshore technical issues.

The successful candidate will join a fast pace, technically capable organization that will further refine their technical and leadership skills.

Job Description

  • Leads a diverse engineering team and allocates resources based on personnel capabilities to execute complex projects.
  • Provide planned and unplanned technical support, troubleshooting and leadership for onshore/offshore operations.
  • Performs as a process owner and leads continuous improvement initiatives that impact the overall department.
  • Provide interface resolution between TFMC and non-TFMC equipment.
  • Participate in design reviews and consult with other departments on designs, and field related applications.
  • Provide technical input to RCAs and resolution of field non-conformances.
  • Coordinates, prioritizes and adjusts the efforts of engineering work performed, including supervision of engineering activities.
  • Supports development of engineering personnel by training, mentoring and coaching to meet business needs
  • Host/attend Technical Readiness Reviews (TRR) prior to on-site or off-site execution of work and After Action Reviews (AAR) following on or off-site execution of work.
  • Approves technical documentation related to engineering changes: ECN (Engineering Change Notices), Part Reports, engineering specifications/requirements and ensure conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering deliverables.
  • Approves engineering designs and documents, including: assembly and testing procedures, system integration test procedures, installation and well commissioning procedures, preservation, storage and maintenance procedures, rig books, layout drawings, schematics.
  • You are meant for this job if:

  • BS degree in Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in the O&G industry, field experience is preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel offsite/offshore, when needed
  • Possess knowledge of shop/lab assembly, field installation and testing. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Subsea System Knowledge (vertical tree systems, horizontal tree systems, intervention systems, manifolds and jumpers, controls):
  • Operational knowledge of at least 2 subsea systems and mastery knowledge of at least 1 subsea system
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain direct customer relationships.
  • Must be able to obtain certifications for offshore work: Transportation Work Identification Credential (TWIC), DOT physical and T-HUET/BOSIET.
