Overview: We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Data Scientist to join and lead our Quantification Analytics team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning, coupled with a strategic mindset to guide our legal data practice.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis and Quantification: Perform advanced data analysis and quantification tasks to support the legal teams.
2. Azure Platform Utilisation: Leverage Azure's suite of data tools, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks, to build and deploy models.
3. Machine Learning and Statistical Modelling: Develop, implement, and optimise machine learning models and statistical analyses to solve complex legal quantification problems.
4. Data Strategy and Governance: Contribute to the development of data strategies, governance, and best practices to ensure data integrity and security.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with legal teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with other data professionals and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
6. Reporting and Visualisation: Create detailed reports and visualisations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
7. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and Azure technologies. Propose and implement new methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of data-driven legal strategies.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Ph.D. is a plus.
2. Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data science or a related field, preferably with experience in the legal industry or finance industry. Proficient in using Azure data tools (Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks). Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
3. Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
4. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply data science principles to business problems.
6. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
