About the role As the Lead AI Engineer, you will provide strategic technical leadership across our software stack. You will work cross-functionally with product managers and engineers to architect, plan and deliver robust full stack solutions. As an early employee of a growing company, you will also be responsible for co-creating our culture and core business processes. What you’ll do Lead end-to-end development – Oversee the entire product lifecycle from initial idea to launch, ensuring a cohesive flow from backend to frontend. Craft high-quality code – Produce clear and efficient code, actively engage in code reviews, and champion technological excellence. Engage with clients – Collaborate closely with clients and product owners, transforming their visions into technical realities. Document thoroughly – Create comprehensive technical documentation, simplifying the onboarding process for newcomers. Refine best practices – Proactively seek and implement improvements in engineering and organizational workflows. Manage and mentor a team of engineers - Provide technical guidance, coaching, and career development. Advocate for the team's needs. Drive engineering planning and processes - Lead sprint planning, effort estimation, capacity planning, and release management. Architect and evolve the overall stack - Guide technology decisions and stack improvements; anticipate scaling challenges. What we’re looking for We’re looking for a lead software engineer who has experience building with LLMs. Leadership Ability to lead the technical direction of products from conception to shipping to customers. Ability to work effectively with product, design, and other partners. Strong written and verbal communicator, collaborates well with clients & colleagues. Software engineering Backend: TypeScript (Node.js) or Python (FastAPI, Django). Experience with databases (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, etc) and ORMs (Prisma, Drizzle, SQLAlchemy, etc). Nice to have: Frontend experience (TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native) and CI/CD LLMs & AI Have built something cool with LLMs whether it was for work or a personal project. Strong curiosity about AI and the impact of LLMs. Growth mindset: Ability to quickly learn new skills in the AI space. Nice to have: RAG, Finetuning LLMs, Agentic patterns, stays up to date with latest research papers Who we’re looking for We seek a self-motivated individual with a proactive attitude.
