GET TO KNOW OUR AREA:

Formulation activities comprehend 3 plants that together contributed for an amount of about 85-100 million liters capacity of insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and seed growth products per year and performs under the one PSS production practices and operational excellence framework. Formulation lead is also unit lead of Quality Control squad activities for all site production units.

YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:

  • Ensure the operational safety, process safety, environmental protection, regulatory achievements and compliance through the entire process in the plants among the employees.
  • Support squads in their needs to run daily production activities, enabling them to execute daily production schedule to deliver the best product and customer experience.
  • Be an escalation point for tasks and projects prioritization, problem solving, continuous improvement, conflict resolution - displaying VACC (visionary, architect, catalyst and coach) behaviors and prioritizing the squads’ self-organization first.
  • Close connection with other Unit Leads on and off site, supporting squad members to ensure that the Unit is receiving the support/resources they need (unit GO-Tos, engineers, advisors, etc).
  • Holds own Unit and other Units accountable on the DSO (dynamic shared ownership) design principles, ensuring that the site’s mission critical work is being prioritized.
  • Promotes fluid talent and resource flow within the Unit, being outcome oriented - prioritizing the squads’ self-organization first and being as escalation point when needed.
  • Ensure Unit’s representation in Tier 2 and appropriate escalations to Tier 3 meetings, by self-participation or delegating to squad representatives.
  • Gemba walks one or multiple times a week.
  • Supports squads to achieve appropriate staffing of shifts/areas, including absences coverages - prioritizing the squads’ self-organization first and being as escalation point when needed.
  • Ensures Unit compliance (e.g., formal approvals, trainings, Bayer’s policies), while empowering the squads as much as possible.
  • Co-responsible, with squad members, to maintain safe and timely delivery of quality supply based on production schedules, while maintaining an efficient operation.
  • Have visibility of site’s P&L, connecting Unit’s priorities and deliveries to the site’s overall goal.
  • Models VACC (visionary, architect, catalyst and coach) behaviors: Facilitating the co-creation of a shared vision and higher purpose that resonates with customers.
  • Designing, evolving and integrating the way we work – practices and processes – and shaping the culture to deliver the mission.
  • Acting as an active multiplier of change, removing obstacles and connecting different parts of the system.
  • Helping employees develop capabilities and mindsets to thrive and foster inclusion and empowerment.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE POSITION?

  • Graduated in Mechanical or Chemical engineering or other engineering.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Solid experience as Sr Manager /Plant Head in management in production and/or quality control background, including people management.
  • Advanced VACC (visionary and coach) competencies.
  • Effective facilitator and communication through encouragement, motivation, and inspirational skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Broad understanding of legal requirement and its implementation as well as safety standards and obligations.
  • Strong willingness and ability to deliver over results over the mission with good sense of priorities.
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese.
