PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: Minimum Degree in Civil, Mechanical or any equivalent field
TRAINING & QUALIFICATION:
- Proven track record in managing previous projects and demonstrate strong Project Management skills.
- Proficient in English, with good oral and written communication skills.
- Possesses good interpersonal skills and able to communicate and liaise with various stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to details, multi-tasking skills and punctuality
- Resourceful & analytical with strong leadership qualities and able to motivate people
- Possess good business acumen and cost control mindset
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Offshore Installation and a minimum of 5 years in Project Management, Knowledge of Project Management Professional (PMP) process will be an advantage.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Manager shall be the CONTRACTOR’S Representative. He shall be responsible for the overall execution of Projects under the CONTRACT, particularly on Safety, Project Management, QA/QC and contractual aspects and the welfare of PMT’s personnel. He shall liaise with the CLIENT on all matters pertaining to the WORK and shall ensure that the WORK is done in the most effective and safe manner.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Specific responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: -
a) General
- Assisting the Project Director/ Senior Manager, Projects setting up and organizing the project management team.
- Receiving all correspondence, specifications, drawings and other instructions from the client and reviewing, disseminating and coordinating action to the content.
- Issuing all contractual correspondence to the Client.
- Agreeing with the Client and appointing any Subcontractors to be used on the project.
- Ensuring that all necessary work plans are prepared, and resources are available to meet the plan.
- Ensuring that work is performed in a safe and timely manner, that the Client’s specifications are fulfilled and that all applicable codes and standards are met.
- Ensuring that the Client is aware of progress being made on the project and reporting progress and contract outlook to internal management as required.
- Ensuring that any accidents or incidents, which may occur, are investigated and reported and that necessary corrective action is taken.
- Ensuring at the commencement of the contract preparation of a detailed budget against which contract performance will be measured.
- Initiating during the course of the contract any corrective action, which may be necessary to ensure that project remains within budget and schedule.
- Agreeing with the Client and documenting all changes, this may arise during the course of the contract. Ensuring that changes in the scope of work are notified to relevant personnel and incorporated in the work.
- Authorizing budget revisions to reflect revised scope.
- Ensure that the projects are conducted in compliance with the contract, approved plans, project procedures and directives of the client, and those possible variances are adequately acted upon.
- Evaluate effects of project changes, including the impact upon deliverables, schedule and budget, and reach a contractual agreement with the client on these impacts.
- Appropriate use of systems for controlling and reporting on cost, progress and quality including timely reporting to the client and internally.
- Adequate execution of internal verification of all project work.
- Effective communications with the client and all departments performing project work.
b) Organizing & Resources
- Selecting, recruiting and organizing the PMT and coordinating their work.
- Ensuring that the organizational capabilities of the PMT is maintained and adjusted in achieving the project’s objectives.
- Ensuring that all the resources are available for the PMT to perform the required activities
- Ensuring adequate and competent resources for the project,
- Ensuring proper planning of work and manpower in the PMT
- Identify training and development needs of sub-ordinates
- Perform appraisals of sub-ordinates
- Maintain a positive project team spirit throughout the project
c) Business Development
- Supporting in business development during the proposal stage
d) HSE
- Developing, issuing and ensuring the implementation of a Project Safety Plan which is consistent with Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Policy and compatible with client’s Policy.
- To ensure safe and efficient project operations.
- To actively participate, contribute and promote HSE in company’s and project’s HSE programs
e) Quality
- With the assistant of project QA/QC Engineer, developing, issuing and ensuring the implementation of a Project Quality Plan, which is consistent with Management System and Statement of Policy.
- Participate in, give advice and supervise the work being performed within the division.
- Initiate and implement corrective actions.
- Implement the management system including relevant parts of the governing documents and revisions of the same in own project.
- Implement identified improvement tasks for own project and relevant parts of the department's improvement plan.
- Identify the need for and provide additional documents and equipment necessary for work execution.
f) Marketing
- Promote SUSA to spread positive and correct information about the organization,
- Create an active and positive relationship within the group and clients
- Perform with the SGI and drug, alcohol, and illicit substances policies, as required by the company.
