Projects is a specialized and dedicated project organization in Hydro. Our main tasks are to develop and execute investment projects in a structured, efficient and predictable way. We provide project management services to all Business Areas in Hydro cross-boarders. Projects will play an important part in Hydro’s ambitious journey, to maintain our position as a leading supplier of low-carbon aluminium and to grow in renewables. - disciplinary and diverse team and will collaborate with many parts of the organization.
The Project Governance Manager will be hired locally in Brazil but will organizationally belong to the department Governance and CVP in Projects in Norway. CVP (Capital Value Process) is the decision gate process used by Hydro for all investment projects to ensure equal evaluation of all capital expenditure proposals.
**Responsibilities**:
**Planning of decision gate process**
- Support the BA’s and their project units in planning of projects according to governing documents, inclusive Hydro’s Capital Value Process (CVP);
- Ensure that project schedules allow time for Hydro’s approval processes;
- Work with early phase projects to ensure that all parts of the decision gate process are considered. Align with local decision gate coordinators for planning reviews of the projects at each decision gate.
**Decision gate reviews**
- Lead, organize or participate in decision gate reviews for projects that require approval by the President & CEO or Board of Directors (BoD);
- Lead, organize or participate in decision gate reviews for other projects upon request by a Business Area or Corporate stakeholders.
**Development of methods and best practices**:
- Advise on decision gate processes for Business Areas and project units and actively encourage adherence to the decision gate requirements;
- Assist the Business Areas in implementing and adapting the Capital Value Process to accommodate smaller projects and local regulations;
- Assist in the development of local Capital Value Process networks and development of local decision gate review leaders.
**Safeguarding Project Governance and excellence**
- Facilitate Start-Up Arenas in investment projects, participate in Project Steering Committees and other forums with governance focus; Perform or organize quality audits for projects upon request by BA’s or corporate stakeholders;
- Perform deep dives in risks and their implementation in Cost Risk Analysis (CRA) and Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA); Link local project organizations with Projects Centre of Excellence to ensure best use of methodologies and tools;
- Encourage and support best practice execution principals and provide advice and advice to ensure efficient capes project delivery.
**Experience**:
- Experience working in industrial companies; Experience working with investment projects, Audit or review experience is an advantage.
**Skills**:
- Industry knowledge, good understanding of different types of investment projects from early phase through execution (characteristics, geography, types of projects and production);
- Proactive, curious, customer focused and a good listener;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Structured and well organized;
- Experience with project management methodology and tools; Practical experience with management of projects; Knowledge og decision gate processes in investment projects is an advantage, Hydro’s or other industrial companies’ processes, e.g. CVP or FEL;
- Fluent in English and Portuguese both oral and written.
**Qualifications**:
- Relevant master or bachelor level.
**Additional information**:
- Training in Hydro’s Project Management Methodology and the CVP process will be provided as a part of the onboarding;
- Flexibility to travel to project locations is a requirement;
